War and its evils

War is a fighting between nation and groups within a nation using military forces. When the political parties or forces fight each other, it is called civil war. Whether it is a war between nations or a civil war, it results horrors, evils and destructions. Wars themselves prove to be deadly evils and man invited ruins. The principle motives of wars, especially political issues, result the wars to break out.

There are many causes of wars. When two or more than two countries have misunderstanding, a war is likely to break out. If a country violates the terms of treaty between the nations, the other country declare a war. Sometime, the murder of great leaders invites a war. Furthermore, some powerful nation wants to extend their territory and declare wars with their neighboring countries. A civil war breaks out when two forces want to overcome each other for ever. Most of the causes of war are political.

The modes of war have been changed. Modern wars are more destructive one than ancient ones. In the ancient time, the means of a war were bows and arrows, axes, knives, swords, clubs and spears. Soldiers used to ride on horse, elephants and chariots. But modern wars are completely different guns, bombs, rockets, planes, helicopters and missiles are used as the weapons and means of wars nowadays. Modern wars are likely to end human civilization if such destructive weapons are used foolishly and mercilessly.

When a war breaks out, it certainly results horrors, destructions and human casualties. Schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, factories temples, churches, road private buildings, offices and so on are destroyed in the modern war. For e.g.: two bombs destroyed two entire cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in the Second World War. Nowadays, we can see the destruction of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many innocent people are killed in the wars. Many people became homeless. Even small innocent children are killed. Schools, collages, trade centers etc. get closed during the wars. The economics of the nations worsens. It is sure there is a tremendous loss to the nations as the evils of wars. Absolutely, wars are themselves unnecessary evils.

A war certainly invites deaths, horrors, destruction, ruins and evils. The UNO is expected to play the prime role in stopping wars to break out. The feeling of supremacy of a nation can result wars. Therefore, there must be power- balance between the power-balance between the powerful countries. Furthermore, extremely destructive weapons should be prohibited in the world in order to lessen the gravity of destruction and evils of wars.

The existence of war initiated before the invention of scientific discoveries which are nowadays used as the means of war. The mode of war has been made destructive due to the misuse of scientific discoveries and deadly devices.

It is said that the modern scientific discoveries have made everything more comfortable. Nowadays we can travel around the world in twenty-four hours. We can enjoy everything sitting at one home. Due to the invention of scientific discoveries, we have achieved complete access to each of the corners of the world. On the other hand, the means of scientific discoveries are willingly misused for the destruction of human civilization; no doubt, it’s the worst aspect of the science and technology. The discoveries of science and technology cannot be said to be completely responsible for making the mode of war more destructive because no scientific discoveries are destructive themselves if we use them properly.

Due to the misunderstanding among or between the countries along with the development of battle instruments, wars break out. The powerful countries try to take the whole world under their control. But it is not accepted by other countries. So due to the so called supremacy of powerful countries and the feeling of self-dignity of other countries, wars automatically break out; and they ultimately invite catastrophic consequences.

Science is not the cause of war but it absolutely functions as a promoter. The means of scientific discoveries are misused as the weapons of war human beings. Nowadays various kinds of fatal weapons of wars are widely used all over the world. So an intricate relation between science and war exists at the root of modern battles. The deadly devices and discoveries hostile to put out rave an end through the tremendous misuse of scientific deceived; for instance two entire cities in Japan were completely ruined as the result of atom bomb.

Although science doesn’t play the prime role to break out wars, it has undoubtedly and unquestionably promoted and intensified the mode of wars due to the deadly discoveries of it. Modern wars and deadly scientific discoveries have emerged inextricably. Therefore the relation between science and war has been widened and promoted.

Lasers are discoveries as the devices which produce pure and intense beams of light or radiation. They were invited in 1960. Lasers are widely used in the field of industry. They are used in cutting clothes, piercing leather and even substances like diamond and metals, and cutting bricks and granite. Similarly, they are also used in welding, they can also be used in transport and communication; for example, they are used instead of cables in telecommunication, and they are used in flight simultaneous to train pilots. Thus laser are enormously used in the field of industry, transport and communication.

     In the field of medicine, lasers have made a revolution. Lasers are used to destroy the single cell of living tissues in the treatment of cancer. Doctors have been using lasers instead of surgical knives in major operations. Similarly, skin blemishes can be removed by the help of lasers. Lasers can help us in pollution control. They are useful for measuring the size of pollutant particulars in the air. They can possible be used to clear up oil slices on the surface of the seas. They can also be used for measuring the distance between two objects, such as between the moon and the earth. Thus they are used in the field of medicine, pollution control and measurement. Because of the advantages mentioned above, lasers are completely beneficial.

     Unfortunately, lasers can be used as the means of war. It is the misuse of them. They can be mercilessly used to kill human beings; that’s why they are also called death rays. In the war, they are used in guiding missiles and finding range for gunners. It is the exploitation of lasers, and in the sense, they invite demerit and ruins.

     Although lasers can have both advantage and disadvantages, they are miraculous achievements of science and technology. If they are properly used for the construction of human civilization they cannot invite any fatal disasters; but if they are misused, they certainly lead us to failures and destruction. It is wise of human beings not to invite any collision courses of human civilization.

     In the past, we used to have only rough foods, but nowadays we can enjoy a verity of foods. We can preserve our foods for a long time. Nowadays, we live in a modern buildings comfortably. We use various types of attractive and comfortable clothes. We can travel long distances within a few hours. We have modern devices and medicines to cure most of the diseases. We are using various types of energies for our ease and comfort s. all the progress and achievements that we have now are the gifts of science and technology. The mode of human life has been completely changed.

     We human beings are used to having survived; we feel so. The value of science cannot be explained in a few words. It has led human beings to the highest peak of human progress and modernity.
