     There are different kinds of individuals in a society. Some of them can be criminals. They are given punishment or penalty by law. Some penalties are very simple but some are very serious. The death penalty is the most serious one. It is the penalty in which the criminals are killed according to the law of the state. It is also called the capital punishment. Most of the democratic countries of the world do not have the legal provision of the death penalty.

     Regarding legal provision of the death penalty, two dogmatically opposite views have emerged. Some people support it where as other strongly deny. The advocates of the death penalty view that it certainly lesson the gravity and frequency of the crime committed by the professional criminals. The people who oppose it opine according to their principle on the background of human rights. They view the rights. They view the right to life must be preserved even the murdered.

     The people who support it claim the murderer should be given the death penalty. They argue that if the murderers are not executed, They murder other innocent people. In order to stop them from committing murder crimes, they must be executed. If people know that murderers are executed, they never murder anyone. Thus we can stop people from being criminals. The supporters of it opine that the professional murderers must be sentenced to the death penalty. They believe that it absolutely encourages he simple criminals to be reformed discouraging their criminal mentality and psychology. The supporters view that the murderers do not have the right to life because they do not realize the need of the right to life of the other people.

     the people who oppose it claim that even murderers should given chance to be reformed. They argue that even murderers human right should be preserved. They think that the legal provision of the death penalty violates the norms and values of democracy. In a democratic country, human rights human rights should be enjoyed and practiced. Everyone supports human rights nowadays. In order to stop murders, we can implement some constructive measure.Firstly, the murderers can be given life-long imprisonment. Secondly, they should be given opportunity to be reformed. The programs of rehabilitation and reformation can play effective roles to reforms the nature of the criminals. Similarly, criminals personality should be studied and treated by the psychiatrists. If they are properly treated, they can be reformed.

     In the present era, the legal provision of the death penalty laughs at human rights. The state is expected to stop the people from committing serious crimes such as robbery, murder, kidnap etc. Then the legal provision of the death penalty will not be the matter of discussion.
