.Rights and Duties of Citizens.

     The literal meaning of  'a citizen' is the inhabitant of the city, but the term 'citizen' is used in a broad sense. Every member of a state whether he inhabits in a city or a village is called citizen of the state. Citizen are provided with some rights and expected to perform some duties of the state. Rights and duties of citizens are viewed to be inter-related and inextricable.

     The state provides its citizens with some rights. Citizens enjoy civil rights, such as personal rights, social rights, religious rights, economic rights and political rights. They are fundamental rights. Similarly, citizens also enjoy moral rights. Citizens are morally and legally urged to complete some duties for the state. Rights and duties always go together. It is the duty of the citizens to love, respect, and save the country. Good citizens are expected to sacrifice themselves to protect the country.

     There is an inseparable inter -relationship between rights and duties. It is said that rights themselves are duties cannot be completed if we do not have rights, and rights can not be saved if we do not complete our duties. If a person has right to earn money. In the sense of enjoying rights, nobody can hinder the rights of other people. If we do not complete our duties, we will not be suitable citizens to enjoy the rights. It is said that rights and duties born together, live together and move together. It is further said that rights cultivate duties and duties cultivate rights.

     Rights and duties are of great significance. If rights and duties are aptly enjoyed and performed, a country can boost up its progress. Dutiful citizens are the key factors to development of a country. Rights provide complete freedom and make the people complete their duties. Rights make the citizens real patriots who are always ready even to sacrifice themselves for the protection of the motherland. the apt relationship between rights and duties of citizens uplift the dignity of  the country.

     Rights and duties of good citizens go hand in hand. Dutiful citizens can enjoy complete rights. Rights are necessary to complete duties. It can be said that rights and duties of citizens imply each other.
